1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use the Modern Money website (modernmoney.co.za) and when you buy any of our products. When you tick the terms box at checkout and place an order, you agree to them. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy, Refund and Returns Policy and Financial Disclaimer.

The website is operated by Modern Money. In terms of section 43 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA):

3. Our products
- eBook – a PDF you download from your account. Each copy is personalised: your name and contact details are printed on the pages, and the file opens with the email address you used to order. Please keep your file private, as it carries your personal details.
- Audiobook – streamed on our website when you are logged in to your account.
- Modern Money Masterclass – an online course you access through your account.
- Physical copies (paperback and hardcover) – a printed copy of the book delivered to you in South Africa.
Each product page describes what is included. Please read it before you buy.
4. Prices and payment
All prices are in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where VAT applies. Any delivery fee is shown at checkout before you pay.
Payments are processed securely by our payment provider, Yoco. Your card details go directly to Yoco; we never see or store them.
If a product is shown at an obviously wrong price, we will contact you before processing the order and you may cancel it for a full refund.
5. Placing an order
Before you pay, you can review your cart and order details and correct any mistakes. An agreement is concluded when your payment is successful and we send you an order confirmation by email.
You can keep a full record of every purchase: the confirmation email is yours to save or print, and your orders are listed under My Account → Orders.

When you buy, we create an account for you (or use your existing one). Keep your login details private – you are responsible for activity on your account.
Access to digital products is personal to you and may not be shared, transferred or resold. You keep access for as long as we offer the product online. If we ever stop offering a digital product, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email.
8. Delivery
Digital products are available immediately after payment. You will receive an email with access details, and you can always find them in My Account.
Physical copies (paperback and hardcover) are delivered within South Africa. Delivery costs and estimated delivery times are shown at checkout. We will deliver within 30 days of your order; if we cannot, we will let you know and you may cancel for a full refund. For an international shipping quote, please email us at info@modernmoney.co.za.
9. Cancellations, returns and refunds
Your right to cancel within the 7-day cooling-off period, and how returns and refunds work, are set out in our Refund and Returns Policy. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act or ECTA.
10. Copyright and licence
All content on this website and in our products – including the book, eBook, audiobook, course videos, worksheets and quizzes – belongs to Modern Money and Munya Shumba, and is protected by copyright.
When you buy a product, you get a personal, non-commercial licence to use it. You may not copy, share, upload, sell, publish or distribute it, or share your login with anyone else. We may suspend or end access to an account that breaks these rules.

Our content is general information and education, not financial advice. Please read our Financial Disclaimer before acting on anything you learn from us.
12. Using the website
Please use the website lawfully. Do not try to gain unauthorised access to it, interfere with how it works, copy content in bulk, or upload anything harmful. We work to keep the site available and secure, but we cannot guarantee it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
13. Our liability: please read carefully
- 13.1Our content is general education only. You alone are responsible for your financial decisions, and you use our content at your own risk.
- 13.2To the maximum extent the law allows, Modern Money and Munya Shumba are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, our content or website. This includes investment, trading, tax or other financial losses, loss of profit or income, loss of opportunity or data, and indirect, special or consequential loss.
- 13.3We do not guarantee any financial result, income or outcome from our products. Examples and testimonials are illustrative and results vary.
- 13.4To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the product concerned.
- 13.5We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including load shedding, internet or hosting outages, and failures of third-party providers.
- 13.6Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for fraud, gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or anything that cannot lawfully be limited, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.
14. Links to other websites
Our website may link to other websites, such as YouTube, Instagram or media features. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the one shown on this page when you placed it. The date at the top shows when the terms last changed.
16. Law and complaints
These terms are governed by South African law. If you are unhappy with anything, please email us first at info@modernmoney.co.za and we will do our best to resolve it. You may also approach the National Consumer Commission or the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud.
